A Taste of ‘Legenderry’ Culture

The Mac Cafferty School Singers will be performing in an early evening slot at the Millennium Forum piazza for Derry-Londonderry’s Culture Night on Friday 23rd September. Culture Night is an annual celebration of arts and culture, which takes place in/outdoors across Irish towns and cities.

The Mac Cafferty School of Music is an established, family run singing school for boys and girls from nursery school upwards. Senior pupils of the Mac Cafferty School will also be performing in the theatre at a tenth anniversary concert of the Millennium Forum on 9th September.

Registration for singing classes will be taking place at the Forum on Tuesday 6th September. For any inquiries contact Una O’Somachain on 028 7126594.

Rosie Red Goes Digital

A book by Derry children’s author, Trisha Deery, will be the first in Ireland to be available as an app.

Trisha’s book ‘Let Me See…What Will I Be?’ featuring the character Miss Rosie Red, was launched in Derry earlier this year, with more to follow in Belfast and Dublin.

The book, published by Dog Ears, is on sale in local shops and the app is due to go live now as a download for iPhones and iPads. It will also be available on iTunes and via the website: www.missrosiered.com

The next launch will be taking place on Saturday 20th August in Waterstones, Fountain St, Belfast at 1pm.

Sounds good to me!
