Wonderful news came this week for Derry-Londonderry and the promise of £10 million funding for cultural venues and services. This is a welcome perk for many a big thinker out there in the North West – but quick you’ll have to be, as the deadline for expressions of interest is a fortnight today on 7th April. On the topic of culture, I am very much enjoying the ongoing work I am doing with one of Derry-Londonderry’s cultural companies In Your Space Event Management. In Your Space have provided colour to the city’s streets for over ten years, in the shape of stilt-walkers, performers and musicians to many a creative event.
They are working closely with Ilex at the moment on the entertainment for the launch of the new Peace Bridge which is planned for the end of June. There is plenty of exciting stuff happening then, not least by In Your Space’s annual Carnivale of Colours event which takes place at Derry-Londonderry’s St Columb’s Park. So watch this space…
